From June 6 to June 8, 2026, local time, at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, Vice President Han Zheng visited Belarus and held separate meetings with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, and First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov in Minsk.

When meeting with Aleksandr Lukashenko, Han Zheng conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings and noted that, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandr Lukashenko, China-Belarus relations have developed rapidly, reaching the high level of an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. China stands ready to work with Belarus to maintain the guiding role of head-of-state diplomacy, carry forward the fine tradition of mutual support, open up new space for win-win development, consolidate public support for bilateral friendship, and promote deeper and more substantive progress in China-Belarus relations and bilateral cooperation.
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked Han Zheng to convey his cordial greetings to President Xi Jinping. Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Belarus is China’s all-weather comprehensive strategic partner and a reliable good friend forever. Over the more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties have flourished. Belarus always attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and looks forward to intensifying high-level exchanges with the Chinese side, enhancing mutual political trust, deepening practical cooperation, carrying forward people-to-people friendship, and further advancing bilateral ties.
When meeting with Alexander Turchin, Han Zheng stated that China-Belarus friendship has a long history and has grown ever stronger with the passage of time. China is firmly committed to developing relations and deepening cooperation with Belarus and will continue to support Belarus in safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development interests. Both sides should enhance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and continuously cultivate new highlights of bilateral cooperation. China is willing to work with Belarus to safeguard the common interests of the Global South and bring greater certainty to a turbulent world.
Alexander Turchin stated that China is a key strategic partner of cooperation for Belarus, and the bilateral relations serve as an exemplary model of solidarity and cooperation among developing countries. Belarus highly appreciates China’s constructive role in upholding international fairness and justice, and will continue to firmly support China in safeguarding its core interests. Belarus is willing to align its development strategy with China, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, enhance coordination in international affairs and continuously enrich the content of the Belarus-China all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.
When meeting with Nikolai Snopkov, Han Zheng stated that China and Belarus are good friends of mutual trust and good partners of sincere cooperation. The two countries enjoy strong economic complementarity and broad prospects for cooperation. This year marks the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, while Belarus is also advancing towards the goals set out in its 2026-2030 Socioeconomic Development Program. China is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with Belarus, continuously open up new space for win-win development that is at a higher level, more resilient, and more sustainable, and better benefit the peoples of both countries.
Nikolai Snopkov stated that Belarus and China share similar development philosophies and have aligned strategic goals. Belarus firmly believes the Chinese modernization will greatly contribute to world peace, development and common prosperity. Belarus is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and fully leverage existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms to enhance people-to-people exchanges and expand practical cooperation in industrial and manufacturing sectors. Belarus will advance major projects such as the China-Belarus Industrial Park, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in the country.
During his visit, Han Zheng and Nikolai Snopkov jointly attended the Opening Ceremony of the China-Belarus Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum and the Belarus special event “Big market for all: Export to China”, delivering speeches at both. Han Zheng stated that China stands ready to continue treating Belarus with sincerity and engaging in good faith. The two sides will strengthen the alignment of development strategies, tap into the potential for trade growth, and expand industrial and investment cooperation. China will remain committed to high-quality development and high-level opening up, creating broader development opportunities for countries around the world including Belarus. Nearly 1,000 political and business representatives from both countries attended the two events. Enterprises from both sides held on-site business meetings and reached agreements on multiple cooperative projects.
Han Zheng also laid a wreath at the Victory Monument and visited a Belarusian agricultural exhibition.
